HIP HOP, EDUCATION, & AESTHETICS
This project explored the aesthetics of hip-hop and their relationship to teaching, learning, and living. Publications from this proect spanned the fields of higher education, urban education, and curriculum and instruction. Hip-Hop Culture in College Students’ Lives, the scholarly monograph from this project, was positively reviewed in many scholarly journals including International Journal of Critical Pedagogy; Journal of College Student Development; Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice; Education Review; and Words, Beats, & Life: The Global Journal of Hip-Hop Culture. This work also received attention in popular venues including the New York, Boston, and Philadelphia Metro Paper and Inside Higher Ed.
